Brixton Bulls RLFC have today (09/08/16) announced the launch of Mini Bulls Rugby, which will provide junior rugby-themed fun for years 1 to 6 in south London.
For many years, the Bulls have provided sessions each summer for children, but from September 2016 these sessions will run termly, year-round.
Mini Bulls Rugby will run every Saturday morning during term time and provide fun and energetic rugby training for boys and girls in years 1 to 6. Children will be taught agility, teamwork and coordination through rugby-themed games, exercises and non-contact tag rugby matches.
Sessions take place at Woodmansterne Playing Fields, which are easily accessible from Streatham, Clapham, Balham, Brixton, West Norwood, Mitcham, Tooting and Thornton Heath. All children are entitled to a free taster before signing up, and will join a wider family of enthusiastic players, volunteers and coaches at the club.
The Bulls also have an under-17s team who were recently victorious in the final of the London Youth and Junior League, and an open age team.
Making the announcement was junior coach Philippa Robson. She said “I am delighted that from September Mini Bulls Rugby will provide children from across south London with the opportunity to take part in rugby-themed activities year round. The Bulls have been running since 2006, and our passionate group of volunteers, with support from the London Rugby League Foundation, are determined to build a bright future for rugby league in south London.”
The first session of the autumn term will be held on 10 September. For more information, or to sign up, email email@example.com or use the contact form.
